What Have We Done
Chances are, if you were entertained recently in Ann Arbor, somewhere, dressed in black, poised behind a curtain, was a Union Stagehand from I.A.T.S.E. Local 395. We are behind the scenes everywhere, at work, while you are enjoying the show! This list covers some of our major events to give you an idea of what we do.
2014 brought the NHL Winter Cup Classic to the field of Michigan Stadium. We helped build the rink in below freezing temperatures and staffed the entertainment parts of the broadcast. Not to mention put down several hundred square feet of fake snow hours before a blizzard whited out the whole field.
In 2013, Ann Arbor served as the home base for Robert Wilson & Philip Glass as they remounted the anniversary production of Einstein on the Beach. And Local 395 was there, with a month of tech rehearsals, hundreds of pounds of dry ice, and a historic World Premiere of the five hour long opera.
We have played hosts to likes of the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2006, 2003 and 2001, the Propellor Theater, the Druid Theater, & Simon McBurney’s Complicite Theatre Company.
We’ve welcomed the New York, Berlin, Moscow & San Francisco Symphonies; the St. Petersburg and Israel Philharmonic Orchestras, and Jazz at Lincoln Center.
We’ve focused lights and built stages for the President of the University, the President of the United States, and even the Dalai Lama.
The saying goes, “no job’s too big, no job’s too small.” If you are looking to put on a live event in the Ann Arbor area give us a call and let’s see how we can help you.
